Absolute Machine Tools, Lorain, Ohio, hosted a distributor trip to the grand opening of a You Ji Machine Industrial Co. factory in Taiwan. Absolute distributes You Ji machines in the U.S.

The 188,370-sq.-ft. facility in Kaohsiung City features manufacturing and assembly areas, a climate control system, a contemporary design, engineering offices and a training center.

You Ji welcomes the Absolute Machine group outside the factory.

The tour included watching an 8-m, 365-ton vertical turning lathe being built. The machine has a table diameter of 275.5", with a maximum swing of 354" and a maximum turning diameter of 334.6".

The 40-plus distributors of CNC lathes and machining centers imported by Absolute also visited other Taiwanese machine tools builders that distribute their machine in the U.S. through Absolute, including Johnford, Tongtai, Quick Tech, Ecoca and AccuteX.

Absolute is comprised of Absolute Machine Tools and AccuteX EDM. Absolute sells and supports You Ji vertical turret lathes, Johnford sliding double-column machining centers, Tongtai horizontal machining centers and QuickTech multi-axis turning centers.
