QVI debuts advanced metrology technology

The SmartScope ZIP Advance from OGP.

Quality Vision International Inc., Rochester, N.Y., debuted several new advanced technologies for dimensional measurement. QVI member-companies presented live demonstrations of the latest techniques for optical, noncontact and tactile precision dimensional measurements. The exhibit included 30 unique machine models, including 10 new models and new sensor options.

For example, QVI’s Optical Gaging Products division displayed the new SmartScope ZIP Advance, a high-accuracy measurement system equipped with the a high speed LinearCentric 12:1 auto-calibrating zoom lens that can switch between any two zoom positions in one second, enabling high throughput for applications requiring frequent magnification changes. Linear scales on all axes provide 0.05µm resolution.
