Rollomatic focused on its GrindSmart series of 5- and 6-axis CNC tool grinding machines. The machine tool manufacturer, based in Le Landeron, Switzerland, with U.S. offices in Mundelein, Ill., introduced a new wheel presetting and tool programming station called AlfaSet. The strategy with this new wheel presetting device is to offer a more accurate wheel qualification, which in turn will translate into faster setup and higher overall productivity on these machines.

Features of AlfaSet include:

• The company’s VirtualGrind and VGPro software;
• Control elements and glass scale drives integrated into the presetter;
• Color CCD camera with 30×, 60× and 120× magnification; and
• A high-end PC is offered with this device and is configured to run 3-D tool simulation and machine animation (or user can use their own PC or laptop).
