Durin™, the new metal powder unit from Erasteel soon in operation!

To support its growth strategy in the field of metal powders, Erasteel decided 3 years ago to launch a major investment in Söderfors, Sweden. This investment in a new gas-atomization tower, Durin™, will enable Erasteel to double its current metal powder production capacity, forming the world’s largest capacity for gas-atomized powders. This new tower will be in service by the end of 2011.

With three atomization units in Sweden, Dvalin™, Flexiplant™ and the new Durin™, Erasteel has been developing a strong expertise in powder metallurgy since 1969 and is the world leading supplier of gas-atomized metal powders suitable for Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) and other applications.

Erasteel can offer a wide range of metal powders, available under the trademarks ASP® and Pearl®, with a high level of cleanliness: high speed steels, tool steels, Nickel- and Cobalt- base alloys, stainless steels as well as other steels and alloys under customer specification.
